Sea time... week 3 part 2
Monday, November 06, 2006
So part 1 of week 3 is still to come but I will post it soon. Part 2 is just from this Sunday (5th November).
Roberto and myself decided on Sunday morning to hit the sea. So we caught the T to the Aquarium and bought 2 tickets which got us into the aquarium and a show on the 3D IMAX screen (with those funny glasses imax).
The aquarium was excellent.
The jellyfish were pretty pretty:
The penguins looked damn pissed off.
The ones on the left are the African Penguins and on the right are the Eyelash Penguins (just kidding - Rockhopper Penguins).
DANGER:
Sharky and Piranha (eat eat eat!!!)
Capybara (for Candice):
We then decided to go on harbour cruise to see the city, it was right next to the aquarium so we thought we might as well kill two seagulls with one oyster.
Here is where we launched from:
Here is Greg, Rob and Boston:
This is at the Charlestown Navy Yard, the picture is of the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world, the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) launched in 1797.
Behind it is the Bunker Hill Monument (bloodiest battle in the Revolutionary war) fought in 1775.
This is a great picture of State street which runs straight into the city and if you look carefully you will see the State House which is in the centre of town.
Enough of the history lesson.
We then had a bit of time to kill before the Imax so we went to the North End (home to the Italians in Boston), and there was this damn Italian who kept getting in the way while I was trying to take a picture of the North End sign. He wouldn't mave, so I just had to take the picture with him in it!
We walked around the North End (see below) and found and Italian restuarant and bought a prosciutto pizza, it was massive, and we packed it in, then rolled back to IMAX. The proscuitto wasn't as good as the one from home though.
We then rolled past this shop which I had to take a photo for the Gardenrooters:
IMAX was great, the glasses looked good and we made a new friend - Murtle the Turtle.
Overall it was a succesfull tourist weekend in the city.
Check out the gallery for all the photos and better images of the ones above...
Till next time... keep it clean.
